Application & Procedures

Persons interested in employment with the City of Corsicana should follow the process described below. Persons with disabilities who need accommodations when applying, testing or interviewing should contact the Human Resources Office at 903-654-4822. Requests for accommodations should be made in advance to allow for the proper assessment of needs and identification of arrangements that may be necessary.

Application for Employment (Non-Civil Service)

All Positions Except Sworn Police & Fire Officers

  1. New vacancies are posted in the human resources office as they become available. Positions may have a stated closing date or may be "open until filled." New vacancies are advertised at City Hall and on this website. The 24-hour Job Line, 903-654-4935, is updated every week.
  2. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements and complete an application for each position for which they have an interest.
  3. Applications are issued and accepted between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
  4. For positions "open until filled" , applications are screened daily based on the requirements for the position and qualified applications sent to the hiring department.
  5. For positions with a closing date, applications are screened after the closing date and qualified applications forwarded to the hiring department.
  6. The hiring department schedules interviews and selects finalists for the position. Due to the volume of applications, telephone calls and the time required to review each application, you will not be called or contacted unless you are selected for an interview.
  7. The Human Resources Department conducts criminal history background checks.
  8. After the job offer has been made, a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen are required for all positions.
